Good morning, I went to the local nursery and they weren't sure what it was. I got a response today from @amymya and it was suggested that it might be 'potato fruit'. amymya's post is below. Still searching. Have a nice day.

OMGoodness...potato fruit?..That's a new term for me...I just took a look at the images. I'm presuming the flesh of a potato and the flesh of a berry would be helpful in distinguishing.
Perhaps, you could drop it by the horticultural department at a local college, or, maybe a garden society.
I know it seems like going far out of the way; but, food safety is what stands out the most. I'm pretty sure, if it tastes good, and doesn't make you ill, it's probably safe; HOWEVER, don't take my word for it!!! ;+)
Keep us posted!
Peace.
Good idea, I'll check online for help. There is no college close that has a horticultural dept. I will keep you up to date. Have a good day.
I will bet any neighborhood landscaping crew could tell you what it is in five seconds...They probably mow enough of it down, especially if it grows randomly in the wild as yours.
:+)...
Peace.
Most of the landscapers around here speak little English but that's a good idea. Thanks
Que es esto? pronounced K...S....S...Toe
Translated...What is this?...should get you an answer.
It might be a good idea to have pen and paper handy for them to write it down, possibly in Spanish. You can always bring it home and get the English translation via search engine.
Peace.
That's pretty easy. Thank you. Have a good evening.
