My First Vegetable Garden - Part 6

in #gardening8 years ago

Well hello and a very warm welcome to you all here in Steem Land.  This is the sixth installment of my vegetable garden blog that I have started back up again.  It not only gives me great pleasure to garden but also to share this journey and progress with you.

Well, it took some time and a lot of expended energy...both physical and mental...in order to construct this lovely vegetable garden.  I only wish I took a photograph of the area before I even touched it.  Nothing but thigh high weeds and crap everywhere.  It is amazing what a little thought and work can do.  Anyway, back to business.

The time of these photographs was in May and June of 2016.  Below you can see a planted garden with my deer netting fence around the perimeter and my GeoBin compost pile in the foreground.  The GeoBin is totally awesome.  I also put in a simple A-frame trellis on the right side for climbing plants...in this case, cucumbers.

Zucchini and yellow squash in foreground with tomatoes...both beefsteak and cherry behind them.  Just to the right are cucumbers and down below in the background are beets and beans and spinach.

Carrot sprouts in a big plastic pot.

Well, keep coming back for more garden escapades and entertainment.  Keep on growing!

Gardening is awesome! There are other like minded gardeners I've seen here. Welcome to Steemit.

You got that right!!! Just the bit of time that I have been back, it has been really enjoyable to connect with others beyond the physcal neighborhood. Thanks for the comment.

Awesome.. This is an inspiration. We all need to be more connected to nature. Waiting to see your journey on this garden.

Thanks. I enjoy bringing it to you.

Things look like they're coming along well. What zone are you gardening in?

I live just south of Pittsburgh, PA in Zone 6. Right on the borderline of 5 and 6 really.

Steel country! Very cool.
Hey, my zone is almost identical. I will definitely be following.
