Hello hive!!
I hope everyone is well considering the state of the world at the moment!!
I have been very neglectful of my cacti the last few months so they aren't in the best condition.
This Fungas eating Lady Beetle knows where to hang out on the neglected specimens for a potential meal.
We had a heap of rain so I moved them all undercover, and that's where they stayed.....for months too long.
They became hydrophobic...
Soaking every single pot to eliminate air pockets and guarantee fertiliser is absorbed is a long process but ensures the job is done!
Poor old Rosei 1, my favorite cacti not looking to crash hot, but I'm confident a good feed and some sun will cheer her up.
Bendigo has also been screaming for help for quite some time.
This is a process filled with disappointment and satisfaction in equal proportions for obvious reasons...
I am not even half way through the process yet, but it'll be done before the end of the day.
Seedlings have become a little stunted but will bounce back rather fast....I have no idea why the photos got tweaked sorry.
The progress so far..
Thanks for stopping by Hivers and sorry about the sideways pictures (let me know how to stop it happening if you can..)
Stay tuned to see these cacti bounce back in our beautiful Autumn weather!
Happy gardening,
Sam.
Nice collection you have there. Bottom watering is the best method of watering if you are lazy like me.
It's also the most effective in my opinion.
