@christa, I think it might be a vine. Maybe a Morning Glory plant or another in the family Convolvulaceae. Maybe Ipomoea. They usually have heart-shaped leaves. Kinda similar to a grape vine.

Can you take a picture of the base and the stems? It looks like my Rootbeer plant. Also called Hoja Santa Mexican pepper plant or Piper Auritum.
#1 way to tell is pinch it and see if it smells like root beer!
