2 weeks ago, I posted about growing our own vegetables in our backyard..

So, our helpers started our new batch of vegetables seedlings when we were away for 2 weeks vacation in India last December and have been tending and caring for our okras, long beans, radishes and chillies over the last few weeks.

Finally our hard work (errrmmm.. more to our helpers hard work.. lols..) has come to fruition.. we harvested all our radishes and some of the okras after having them in the ground for about 40 days. It has been raining the whole december last year and early January this year and it took a long time for them to mature..

We finally get to enjoy our home grown veges

It's an amazing feeling to harvest your own vegetables. They are fresh, grown with love and most importantly healthy.. free from pesticides!

Yes growing food at home is so very healthy!

  • it is fresh.
  • easy to harvest for cooking.
  • you know exactly what has and hasn't been put on it.
  • it can save you a lot of money!!

#healthy-home loves backyard gardens!!
Peace

Couldn't agree more @healthy-home.. i know that I am putting healthy, chemical free veg on the plate for the whole family..

Oh, reading your post made me miss our place in the province... I miss our backyard garden :D

Owwh.. how often do u go back to your hometown?

sadly, last 2017 I only visited my hometown once due to busy work. I really miss it.

This is good! You can save more money by gardening plus it' more healthy... :)

Yup! Couldn't agree more!

I love this post.. enjoy your freshly harvest vegetables @connie1018

Thanks @kondoruk.. the radishes are so juicy!

I wish my backyard’s soil is good as yours 😔. I love gardening too

Keep working at it. Make your own mulch and compost. Sometimes it takes a few years of "no chemicals" to bring your soil microorganisms to life. They unlock much of the soil goodness!!
All the best!!

Thanks for the advise @healthy-home. Will do

Lol. Yes. I have a couple submitted that need tweaking.....but yes. It is long overdue!!! XD

Have u tried to combine your backyard's soil with gardening soil? Maybe it can help to fertile the soil..

Unfortunately I did.

gosh!! cant wait for my very own backyard too hehehehe..love this post :)

Haha.. welcome to the club! Let's grow our own food!

Wow...it's great. I stay at apartment so don't have space to plant so many vegie which i love to. But I do plant some onion leaves and some vegie using small pots. Thanks for sharing @connie1018

Thats a good start @veenalo.. maybe you can plant some herbs too!

Good stuff... I was talking to my friend about my grandma own garden full of fresh vege.. really miss does thing

Thanks @Jikey.. have to start growing our own vege..store-bought veg & fruits contains too much chemicals and store-bought organic food are way too expensive!

only 40 days?? and you manage to harvest so much o! awesome 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Yes.. according to our helper, the radishes must be harvested within 40 days. Kalau tdk.. jadi tua n not tasty anymore...
