This is the first time I'm participating in this challenge. It's called SteemIt Community Garden Journal Challenge and it is run by @simplymike. It'll be a balcony gardening post, since I don't have time to make a real gardening post, maybe next time.
This year I bought petunias for my balcony. There are four pots with different colors. This indigo and pink with dark veins are neighbors, so they are together in this photo.
This is the pink petunia with dark veins, let her stand alone and show her beauty :)
I've had petunia flowers before but never one like this. This is something new and I love it. That white on the edges is something unique.
This is the last one, a darker pink. Unfortunately petunias days are numbered, I don't think they will last for long. this heat is terrible.
My marigolds are happy, they are growing, they like my little balcony garden.
Portulaca, the most amazing flower. I bought three and at that time none of them had open buds. So it was kind of a lottery.
When they started to flower, all the flowers were yellow. I wasn't happy at first but then I remembered that this is not the end.
After the yellow flowers, this amazing plant started to have pink flowers and now has red flowers as well.
This is my Cliff Stonecrop (Sedum) which is another amazing flower. It's green in Spring, starts turning pinkish during the summer as you can see on the photo and becomes pink during Autumn.
This photo was taken in October 2016. As you can see the flowers are pink but the leaves are starting to turn pink as well. In November the leaves will be pink. I have to take a photo of that.
This is one of my three hibiscus flowers. This is very special to me because it's a fighter. It look very bad at first sight, even neglected. In fact it's not. let me tell you her story.
I keep my plants inside during winter because the temperature drops way below 0°C, plants would freez. I'm getting them out when the weather starts to warm up. This year spring was very tricky. In March there was already hot, I took the flowers outside. Then the weather suddenly turned to cold, I was away and this little one almost froze to death.
This photo was taken on 3 May this year. This is a new start for this hibiscus, after she almost froze to death. She's starting over. This is the power of nature. The thinner branches were affected but the root and the thicker branch was not.
This is my little garden, balcony garden to be precise :)

Pretty flowers Erikah, :) you fixed it well just because you have no garden, you can still enjoy pretty flowers and colors! :)
Thank you dear Vee, you know how it is, we do what we can with what we have :)
I don't have any petunias this year... still miss my super duper dark purple one.
And I love your sedum! It is one of those dripping ones? So pretty :)
Thank you! What do you mean by dripping?
Hanging... they don't grow up, they hang down :)
Not sure if dripping is the right word...
I thoug of that, I call them running plants. Yes, it is dripping :)
You've made the world a better place making your balcony beautiful :)
Awww, thank you @ginnyannette :) Very kind of you!
When I clicked on your blog, I was greeted with the stunning burst of fuchsia and purple petunias that looked like 3D images on my screen! Every photo looks as though I could touch the flowers and greenery! Beautifully done, Erikah!
Thank you so much for these kind words :)
Oh, you have lots of beauties there!
Thank you cookie :))
I fell completely in love with the dark purple petunias with the white on the edges <3 They are so beautiful...
I didn’t know about the Portulaca growing different colors of flowers. That’s pretty cool.
And I simply had to Google your succulent to see how it looked with pink leaves... I had never seen it before.
I’m not very good with succulents. I only just manage to keep my Aloe Vera plant alive, lol.
The hibiscus has grown quite a lot, compared to the picture you took a month ago. The power of nature... it’s almost unbelievable, right?
Many thanks for the kind words and I'm glad you like my little balcony garden :) I'm also glad I could show you something new. I hope there will be other contests and then I can show you the real garden :)
