I finally decided to hack down my celery as the dirt is getting rather packed they have been in the same pots since the end of last winter and all through summer and this winter. this will be cutting number 3 off these plant's and both were originally started with a bottom from 3 stalks i bought at the store last winter which i saved and rooted by placing in a dish of water until they sprouted roots and then planted.
Not the thickest but still a not bad haul considering i have not used any artificial light and have just grown them on my table next to the window. I planted them from a store bought bottom in may of last year and moved outside. took a cut off them in august,, and left them outside till the end of september and took another cut off them in december and now this is cut 3 off them and i will replant them as the soil is getting packed and depleted. I will eat a few stalks fresh and cut the remainder of the stalks and leaves up to use for soup. By eating leaves you can get up to 500% more nutrients then by eating the stalks alone.
Super cool! Awesomeness right there ⬆️⬆️ love these plants! They look sooooo vibrant and full of health. Good for you! And, even more kudos to the plants!!! 👍🙌💗
These ones are much smaller then my last growing, and waaaay smaller then the growing that came off them in the summer, but theyv been getting less light the last two grows then they did in the summer and the dirts been getting more packed and depleted each grow. i replanted them in a fresh pot with fresh soil now, made a post about that aswell. And yea i love how celery looks, the deep green. nice color to see when you have a couple feet of snow outside hahaha
Totally no kidding .... ahhh green 💚 soon! I saw robins today!!
I have no idea by eating celery leaves, you can get up to 500% more nutrients then by eating the stalks alone! And here I am always throwing the celery leaves in the compost bin. Thanks for the information!
yea i found that info on a few sites and in one of my gardening books, ill post a link to one of the sites here in a bit

Dont really think hes a scam, i reviewed some of his posts. their relevant and informative,, hes just being a spamming jackass with his comments cause they have no relevance to my post. and i find your post equally as much spam, your not commenting anything relevant to my post or upvoting me, instead your asking people to upvote your comment, and vote for your witness yet making no comment upon my self authored post nor voting my blog, so kindly stay off my posts unless your going to add some kind of value to it.
I think the link he put in might be a phishing scam. I don't dare click on any links like that. I've seen too many people get their accounts hacked on here.
Just clicking the link even if its a phishing scam dont get your info, Phishing scams always take you to another site and then your prompted to sign in. you have to actually try to sign in for it to give away your info.
Oh that's good to know. I was under the impression that it hacked your computer or something.
Im sure somewhere out there is some kinda hack imbedded in links But 90% of your worry here is people using links to mislead you to fake sites where your asked to sign in to your steemit the way steemconnect asks you to sign in etc, and the moment you do it sends a notification to whoever posted the link giving them your info
Man, there are sure a lot of shady people out there.
If you just let it grow, will it eventually go to seed? I didn't realise that the bottom would actually grow celery again, but I guess it's no different than doing it with lettuce.
Yes, you can still take leaves and small stalks from the outside but let the lanky stalks from the middle(heart of the plant) grow up and dont take them down and eventually they will go to seed.
