Wading Through The Undergrowth

in #gardening6 years ago

Hello everyone,

It has been another busy day in the garden. I have been pruning back various plants that have been growing out of control and I decided it was high time I weeded the pathway behind the poly. I thought I would take some before and after photos so you could see the transformation.

Behold the overgrown jungle...

So overgrown there was a volunteer swap grass growing in the middle of the path which I have since dug out and relocated! I have certainly overlooked this area of the garden, but I fixed that today.

Say hello to my newly revealed path!

I'm so glad I cleared that out, I can finally walk down there! I have also gained a free ornamental swamp grass, now to decide where to put it...

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I've been doing in the garden today. I'd love to see your latest gardening posts so please link them in the comments! Happy gardening :)

Great post. Such satisfying work clearing overrun areas like this and the results look great. Those plants are growing so fast and furious they must be very happy! Resteemed🦋🌈🌴💛🍀

Thanks @sallybeth23 - I agree it was super satisfying to get it cleared. It's a whole new world back there! Those plants sure grow quickly - they are near a constant water source which is why the swamp grass does so well.

Thank you for resteeming!

I love the shot of the overgrown jungle, it looks so lush and full of life.

You did a great job clearing the path, I would never of guessed it was growing out of control if you didn't show the first 2 shots. The ornamental swamp grass looks nice potted, I hope you find a good spot for it to be!

Haha yes indeed, I had almost forgotten there was a path there too! It wasn't used very much and then when the plants grew over obviously not at all. That's all changed today :)

I am sure there is a vacant spot somewhere for the grass to go, I might keep it potted so it can be moved easily!

Love how natural and vibrant the first pic is, would never of know it hid a path, great job on clearing it, looks great. When will we get to see inside the poly 😃 from what i could see it looks lovely inside. I need a day of weeding before i post up the veg garden its a bit out of control 😆 thanks for sharing

Thank you @digitaldan! It took a few hours but I got there in the end. I am waiting for my plants to progress a bit before posting a poly update, you can see my last poly post here :)

Haha I'm glad I'm not the only one needing to do weeding - would love to see your veggie garden when it's ready to be shown :D

Aw wow awesome great progress! It looks awesome :) keep up the great work, it must be so fun and rewarding:) I love gardening but the past 3 years I haven’t been stationed somewhere for more than a few months... I know I’ll get back to it in the future😀 peace! 🌅

Thanks @sunsethunter! It is definitely rewarding. I hope you can get back to your garden soon! I can’t imagine being away from mine for that long.

Have a great day :)

Oh, I stand impressed with your swift progress!

How gratifying to be able to see the fruits of your labor come together and to get a bonus ornamental grass plant.

Gorgeous job!

Hey @dswigle! It was extremely gratifying to claim back this lost area of the garden. Tidiness brings me peace, so it was a relaxing activity despite the hard work involved.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you are having a great day :)

I get that! I have a sense of calm over gardening. I can toil all day and not tire. It is so very gratifying. Yes.

Who would have thought there was a hidden path in there! Great job clearing out the overgrown jungle. I love the before and after pictures.

Haha yes hard to believe eh? Glad you liked seeing the before and after. Thanks for your comment @romeskie!

Well done - it is so rewarding to get stuck into these sort of project don't you think?

Thanks @lizziesworld, and yes it totally is!! It's one of my favourite garden activities :)

Hi @gardeningchef I love your post. I also love gardening.

It gives me such a lift seeing a well manicured lawn and bright flowers on exotic shrubs. Let me share some images here with you : )

Hi @gardeningchief Thanks for your kind words! I just love gardening and it means so much to have someone else who shares a similar passion to compliment my effort. Hope we share more in future :-)

My pleasure! I am sure we will. I am always posting from my garden!

I bet that was lots of work! It looks great now, and that ornamental swamp grass looks interesting.

Thank you @icybc, it was quite hard work to get it cleared but worth every bit of effort :)
