The single most significant thing that gardening has taught me

in #gardening7 years ago

To notice the small things, to look into the finest of detail, to see from the perspective of a bee or a beetle.

When you do that the world around you truly grows. It's surprising how much we miss in our busy daily lives, and the reward for stopping and taking notice is a little dose of true happiness.

This is a ladybird nestling in the unopened bud of a Mammoth Sunflower. This ladybird was a sight for sore eyes as she appeared in the first season of my new garden while i was struggling with pest control and had been trying desperately to attract the good insects to help with the problem (i don't use any chemicals). I still remember the joy she gave me.

It really is a different world in the perspective of little things with eyes.

Lady Bugs be lucky! :)

Great shot indeed! Well done and keep up the good work!

Nice photo, love ladybugs. The most significant thing gardening has taught me is consistency. My morning routine was always a bit discombobulated, but since I started gardening (urban balcony) I have been like clockwork in terms of watering and caring for my plants. The result has been wonderful and currently I get a full salad every day from my balcony; soon the tomatoes and other large vegetable will be edible, I can't wait!
