My Name is Hayley Salazar and I keep a garden in my Nebraska apartment I share with my partner and our 2 dogs. When I got started on Instagram, I got it to keep in contact with my brother and to follow a few podcasters. I didn't think I had anything worth sharing. When I started an internship with Americorp, I found I had more time on my hands since I was taking a break from being the main breadwinner in my household. Money was getting tight, and I needed a hobby of some sort. I use to paint quite a bit, but the expenses for canvases, oil medium and paints really added up to more I could afford. One trip to the dollar store, I grabbed some 4 for a dollar seed packets and thought I would mess around with them. I was surprised I even got them to grow. I started taking pictures and soon I finally had something to post to my Instagram. After a handful of followers from other plant and gardening based communities, I started doing some real research into what I was I actually doing.
