Future Farm Planning

in #gardening7 years ago

What you see is almost 10acres of prairie land nestled in a small valley here in Oklahoma. It is divided into 2 plots. The southern plot is commercial and the northern plot is residential. The plan is to create a sustainable Market Garden. Currently, our garden takes up 2600sqft in the very small green box. The much larger orange box shows a much larger garden area then what we have. This area would produce tens of thousands if not more in farm revenue. The first of our plans is to build greenhouses 1 by 1 in the yellow area. I think we can build 5 large greenhouses in total. Having greenhouses will allow us to grow year round and have growing space to start seedlings before the Spring season. As a hobby, I am starting a permaculture project in the blue zone. This area has a pond with pond damn surrounding the pond. There are many trees planted on the pond damn, but many have died over the last 10 years also. I plan to plant more trees to surround the pond and create an ecosystem in that area. The area west of the orange box will later become part of the Market Garden, but I will focus on that at a much later date. I hope this was interesting for you and hope you subscribe to follow our evolution of growth in the years to come.
