Hello everyone!
It's quite a long day for me today. As usual, I am trying to fill the wire bins I build for my composting project and I am almost filling the bigger one at its brim however,we are still not done giving the cranberries its haircut . It is still bushy and it's always difficult to cut it little by little since we don't have any chain saw and it is too thorny! Hopefully we get the job done before the month ends.
Anyway, besides the yard chores I think it is time for me to segregate the damp egg shells I have been collecting from the dry ones.
I have them in an ice cream tub and it is way too much already. I have over reached my quota so it is time to crush them.
Do you have tomato plants at home? Well I think your tomatoes will be more than happy to know that you have eggshells for them.
Eggshells are rich un calcium and nitrogen that is best for our tomatoes. Not only that, it is also good for other plants as fertilizers and these are nails or slugs buster. Simply crushed them, not as fine as powder I believe so slugs and snails will hurt themselves when they try to invade your plants. You only need to sprinkle the crushed egg shells around your plants.
I just finished crushing them into smaller pieces they are ready for my plants tomorrow.
I hope you find this post helpful for your garden Have a good one!
Hi! I've been using eggshells for compost. I might try sprinkling them around the plants also. Anything is better than slugs lol
