Direct-sow, easy to grow. The ancient three sisters
method
It's the ancient agricultural technology wherein corn, beans and squash are grown together.
Sisters works together:
- corn ensure stiff stalk that the offers the beans needed support
- beans bring nitrogen to the soil for the benefit of all three
- both beans and corn ensure shadow and proper moisture for squash
- squash protects soil from degradation ant prevent weeds, also squash leaves keep away racoons
Presumably people used this method for the first time 5 to 3.5 thousand years ago in America.
In native-american legend, the plants were a gift from the gods, always to be grown together, eaten together, and celebrated together.
