Sort:  

Don't plant the tobacco plants anywhere near the tomato plants, they share the same diseases, and tobacco mosaic virus can infect tomato plants. The same goes for potato plants, they are related to tomato plants. Also, if you can, skip a year before you plant tomato plants where you had tobacco plants before, for the same reason. Some of the diseases stay in the ground over the winter.
