Hey fellow steemit green thumbs! Things are coming along splendidly in our greenhouse! Right now we have too much ammonia, and are too basic for fish to survive though, so some Phosphoric acid was added pushing the PH to ~6.5 range. Hopeful that the nitrogen cycle will really kick into high gear the next few weeks and we can get some guppies in the 55 gallon drums!
Just harvested our first jumbo heads of Chard from the aquaponics setup... They are so frech, chrnchy and tasty. Really excited to be harvesting before the snow is off the ground!
We have garlic and onions doing great as well. Love using the greens for salads. What about you?
Radishes and basil sprouts are in need of thinning soon - but looking strong!
Hope to show off some healthy lettuce next week to you all and maybe get some help naming some new guppies. :)
Dan
Welcome to steemit! If you are ever looking for a group, actually a community, of homesteaders/gardeners/self-sufficient like-minded people, I am the moderator of a group here... also the "un"official ambassador to the group.
let me know and I can post an invite link here for you!
Sure! I would love to get connected :)
