Our winter crops greenhouse

The summer is winding down here in Missouri and and it is time to start planning our winter crops greenhouse. Most of our summer crops are harvested and pulled from the greenhouse as we get it ready for our fall/winter crops. We will add an application of our preplant fertilizer to the open spaces in our grow boxes and prepare them for transplanting next week.

Our winter crops we will be growing in the greenhouse include cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, spinach, Malabar spinach, Chinese noodle beans, red and white beets, collard greens, basil and maybe cilantro.

In addition to those hardy crops we are going to see how long we can get our tomatoes and squash to survive in the heat sink greenhouse. My goal is to be able to pick a vine ripe tomato on Thanksgiving day.
