I have three potted lemon that I have collected when I first started my balcony garden. These I bought from my suki or the local plant peddler who frequently visits our place.
This one shown in the photo had produced one successful fruit. What I mean by that is a feuit that had reached maturity and ripeness. Out of the many flowers usually only one would survive. I was told and had watched some videos where gardeners pluck the fliwers and retain just a few so the plant can focus on supporting just some buds and eventually fruits
This photo shows the second potted lemon also brought from the plant peddler. When I bought this there are a lot of small fruits on every branch that is why I chose it. Each morning thereafter I would see petals and sometimes whole flowers had dropped. Made me wonder what do gardeners or retailers do to keep the flowers and mature into fruits, well Istill have no idea so if you guys have tips pls share in the comments. This lemon had lost all fruits and slowly the main branch dried saw some sap oozing don’t know what that means. I’ve lost all hope but one day this fresh green shoot appeared and now had grown into this in the picture. This is a grafted lemon I am afraid the branch that died could be the mature flowering branch and this new branch you see could be the young branch from which the old one was anchored that does not sound good to me
This is the third pot it also had one branch that dried but a replacement came out soon. That is the one with flowers shown in the photo above. I am happy to know that the mature branch is alive unlike the previous pot. This has been my garden journey I love lemons and growing a successful tree is my big dream maybe when I have the space I would transfer these on the ground as I am really looking forward to a fully grown lemon tree
