It is a wonderful day in the Garden of Eden, and we are giving thanks for more than enough of everything in this abundant life of freedom!
We made a delicious feast for our full time volunteers on our indoor wood burning stove rather than on the rocket stoves of our sustainable outdoor kitchen. We stayed nice and toasty, had a fantastic meal, AND heated water for showers for super sustainable efficiency. As usual, there was more than enough food for everyone, and we are happy to share our abundance with you!
We made a quick and easy burger and sausages feast!
We prepared a great spread with a garden salad, green beans, burgers, sausages, potato salad, and a variety of bun and topping options. This is a fun way to feed a crowd, because everyone can customize their dinner to their exact tastes!
We made a fresh raw salad on a bed of spinach with cucumbers, cabbage, shredded carrots, red onions, and cherry tomatoes. This was delicious and nutritious as a side, or as a topping to our burgers!
Some of us like bread, and others avoid carbs, so we offered a few different options for buns. We had toasted English muffins, hearty whole wheat buns, and even cabbage leaves to use as wraps!
We have lots and lots of green beans on hand, so we steamed them lightly to serve as a delicious side with a little bit of butter and a sprinkling of salt! We also made a huge bowl of potato salad, because we love potatoes.
This is a classic potato salad made from cubed and boiled potatoes, lots of mayonnaise, grainy mustard, minced onions, and finely chopped celery for a bit of crunch. We sprinkled the whole thing with some green onions for a pop of color and extra flavor!
We made classic beef hamburgers, but we also offered vegetarian patties for our vegetarians! We like to honor everyone's food preferences. We also served uncured beef hot dogs, and some organic chicken sausages. We even made vegetarian hot dogs to give everyone options.
We served sliced tomatoes, onions, pickles, mayo, and bacon on the side for everyone to top their burgers and sausages just how they wanted them.
It was a delicious meal with plenty of wholesome, sustainable, FREE food for everyone! We enjoyed sharing it, and are grateful to share our feast with your here on the blockchain as well.
Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food!
We do all of our cooking over fire, using wood that was otherwise destined to end up in a landfill! This is our indoor wood burning stove in action - it cooks our food, warms our communal space, and heats water for hot showers all at the same time!
