I am always so conscientious when purchasing plants for my gardens. Are they organic? have you used any pesticides? herbicides? fungicides?
If you can't answer that question for me, you are probably home depot or costco....or another equally large reseller of plants.
I've been asking this for years and in the first few years, I certainly got that squished eyebrow glare like..."you weird Lady" ....
I accept that title. And then I walk away.
And with this decision, do you know what I noticed? The bees hang out in my garden as do the hummingbirds and butterflies.
Other beings (small and large alike) are wise, filled with intuition and learning for us. The problem with humans is that we've decided that we are the smartest and with that, separate ourselves from real knowledge and real teachers....It's sad really.
So, take the time to invest in your garden but in the way where it pleases your heart as well as your eyes/belly.
Don't let the neighbours and the $'s make your decisions. If you can only afford to buy one or two responsibly grown plants this season, then just do that. Trust me, in the long run...it feels way better!
Grow healthy food. Provide beautiful healthy flowers for the tiny beings that depend on them....and know that
with this small decision/shift, you will feel your heart expand.
