I have the original Zoom H4 and it was amazing at the time with built-in effects for guitar. It is a bit fiddly to operate. I still use it now and then, especially if I am out somewhere I don't want to be lugging lots of gear. For a while it was my PC audio interface and microphone. Obviously things have moved along a bit, but audio quality is the main thing.
