When I was learning GIMP, and later Photoshop, the "undo" or "revert" option became my best friend. No matter what I did to an image, I could always use that to go back to where I had started.
My long-delayed, but now re-booted, attempt to create a "Secure Pi" that could be used by activists reached that same point. I either corrupted the memory card or I fouled up a configuration file for the updates. Rather than try and retrace my steps; I plan to reformat the memory card and reinstall Ubuntu Mate.
From there, I'll go back through the steps I was trying before;
- TOR-Either as a browser or as a proxy
- Protonmail or TorBirdy-E-mail
- BitMask or OpenVPN (This is likely where I fouled up my first attempt)
- Searx Search
- Whatever else I think of or find useful.
After that, I have another idea I need to resume. Taking an older Raspberry Pi and turning it into a TOR Proxy. If that works, I may try integrating that into a more modern Pi and see if a place like Wooden Shoe or Red Emma's may not want to use it for their patrons. If not, I can think of a few spaces in the Harrisburg area that may find it useful.
Going even further back, a few years ago, I bought myself a cheap quadcopter. It made a few flights in my apartment, but not much further. I may also look at taking the thing outside and turning my complexes basketball or sand volleyball courts into a sorta "flight school". The idea being to use the camera that can be mounted to maybe get over the barricades when the fasc rally in Harrisburg, etc.
I have a few other ideas; learning DruPal, getting my Security+ and getting an app into the Google Play Store. As I like to say "Just be ready!"
