Cinnamon Rolls Recipe (Grace's Version)

Today I'm going to share with you all my cinnamon roll recipe as there was a request for it the other day.
Hehe. Here is my improvised version of cinnamon rolls recipe due to the lack of ingredients so I've to change most of the ingredients and also alter it to become a healthier version of cinnamon rolls i guessed.

It's my 1st time making cinnamon rolls, i never knew it would be that delicious especially freshly baked ones! When it's still warm and super aromatic! 🤤

So let's get started!
Here is what you need.

Bread roll ingredients:

2 cups warm water
1 tablespoon instant yeast
6 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoon salt
1 and a half tablespoon of palm oil
Half tablespoon butter
2 tablespoon milk powder
280gram wheat flour(you can use wheat flour or fully all purpose flour, i mixed it cse that's all that i have left for this wheat flour)

All purpose flour(nearly 1KG)

Cinnamon Sugar Filling:

1 cup brown sugar
2 and a half tablespoon of ground cinnamon
6 tablespoon butter

Steps:

So here first of all, in a small bowl pour 1cup of warm water(warm and not hot water), the a pinch of brown sugar and 1tablespoon of yeast. Mixed it together then let the yeast activate for about 10mins like that.

It's going to look like this after activated.

Now in a big bowl you can combine the rest of the ingredients salt, brown sugar, palm oil, butter, milk powder, wheat flour, 1cup of warm water and the 1cup of activated yeast mixture.
Don't combine the all purpose flour yet because you will need to use that after mixing everything together.

So mixed the bread roll ingredients until smooth, if it's still watery now you can add in some of the all purpose flour a little by little until the dough mixture thickens.

Once thicken like this, you can now add more flour and knead it with your hands until smooth.

Now roll it into a ball and dust it with flour and put it into a large bowl that had been oiled and cover with plastic warp. Leave it in a warm environment for 1hour for the dough to rise.

While waiting for the dough to rise, now I'm going to make the cinnamon sugar filling.
I'm blending this cinnamon stick into powder.

Now combined the cinnamon sugar filling ingredients together.

Mixed until it's smooth.

One hour is up!
My dough had already double in size.
It's time to punch it down and add some more flour and knead it then roll out into a rectangular shape.

Something like this.

Then spread the cinnamon sugar filling on it.

IMG_20200516_140717.jpg

Time to slowly roll it up. Try to be gentle and not to break the dough.

IMG_20200516_140950.jpg
Then use a sharp knife to cut it up.

Before putting the rolls into your baking pan, make sure to oil it with butter.
I made some cinnamon buns too because of the side of the cut out rolls doesn't look so nice so I turned it into buns instead. 😋
Leave the cut up rolls and buns to rise again another hour before baking.

Preheat your oven at 360F for 5 minutes.
Then only you can bake it for 20-28 minutes depends on the size of your cinnamon rolls. Mine is too fat and fluffy for needs longer time.

As for the cinnamon buns it only took 15-20 minutes. You will know its cooked once the skin is brownish.

After done baking.Let it cool on a rack or eat it when it's still warm.
You can pair it with a cup of tea or coffee. 😍

The results of the cinnamon buns and rolls..
One of it is chocolate Melting bun because I've some leftover chocolate melt and my cinnamon sugar mixture has finished. 😂

I hope you enjoy this recipe!
Cheers!
