3 CITIES, 9 TRENDS: AW 2020 EDITION

in #gems5 years ago (edited)

In the last fashion month celebrating the AW2020 season, we saw many different trends that caught our attention. Here's Tribalbi's curated selection of those which we think will be big when autumn comes around.

PARIS:

Shirts under dresses:

Layering is king, and this season it comes in the form of a combination of tailored shirts under dresses. A playful opportunity for those who dare to mix and match with eccentric patterns, colors and shapes.

The leather legacy:

The ever-fashionable leather jacket isn’t going anywhere this season for the street style set. Oversized, maxi or even asymmetrical styles take the lead to take the classical leather jacket to a next level.

Boxy Blazers:

Another classic piece that taking a turn this season, we saw a quantifiable amount of fashionistas wearing blazers that reminisce of the 80s silhouettes. Choose neutral colors or go bold with daring prints, your choice. Just make sure it’s oversized.

LONDON:

One color hues:

The street style set says it clear: you can never go wrong with a single-colored look. Elegance and minimalism play a big role here, and this is our go to for those days when we don’t feel like putting an extra effort on our pattern game. Beige, sand and black are the fashionistas’ go-tos.

Masculine aesthetics:

Asexual garments are undeniably on the rise. Masculine cuts were found in London in the form of tailored suits, oversized shirts and edgy outerwear. Next time you head out, ask your boyfriend or dad for his favorite blazer, we promise it won’t let you down.

Hat reign:

Hats were seen everywhere in LFW, partly because of the rainy weather, partly because of their playful aesthetic. Bucket hats take the lead here, but never in a boring way; animal prints, bold colors and shiny hues beat the neutral shades.

MILAN:

Behold the bags:

Bigger-than-life bags took the starring position in Milan, presenting Bottega Veneta as the cult designer. With these sizes, you will sure not run out of storage space.

Bold suits:

Who said suits can only be worn in neutral tones? MFW taught us to cheer up our suit game and play with vivid colors, often in a total look representation.

The return of the Mary Janes:

The 1930s classic is making a huge comeback. Pair it with colorful socks or without, wear them with platforms or as flats... the choice is yours, just make sure you get your hands on a pair of them.

NEW YORK:

Vivid prints:

Among the beige obsession many fashionistas seem to be having lately, we still have some daring figures who aren’t afraid to make a statement with bold prints and colors. Just in time for summer, the street style set is teaching us that colors are always a great choice.

Amp up your puffer game:

Puffer jackets lost their utilitarian-only purpose and became very fashionable in New York. Bold prints, oversized figures and asymmetrical shapes make these jackets a fun way to fight the cold.

Chunky shoes:

Creepers, chelseas, sneakers... you choose your faves, just make sure your new shoes have a thick platform. These are guaranteed to make a statement anywhere you take them. Pro tip: wear them in black.
