I remember when it was even more repetitive and they changed it from:
Oh Canadato "Our true north strong and free"
Our home on Native Land
True patriot love
In all our sons command
With glowing hearts we see the rise
Our true north strong and free
We stand on guard Oh Canada
We stand on guard for thee
The song's been changed so many times that it's ridiculous, it's just that this is the first time it's changed since it actually became our national anthem (in 1980). Before that it was "God Save The Queen". Either version is a step up from a monarchist song I guess, though I never really cared that much back then.
