Hey guys, while walking around in the southern part of Bavaria I decided to visit a catholic church "St. Quirinus" in "Tegernsee. The innner of the church was magnificently and also its history and legends were quite interesting. St Quirinus in Tegernsee was until 1803 a monastery church and also known for some interesting historical backgrounds and legends.
St Quirinus church from the outside
Saint Quirinus of Tegernsee had to suffer under Emperor Claudius the second because of his religious beliefs in Rome. Some Quirinus legends also tell of the suffering he had to endure for the name of Christ. At night, Quirinus was killed with a sword and then thrown into the Tiber. His body was buried in an underground passage in the Pontianus Cemetery.
Many legends are telling how much Quirinus was worshiped.
According to the legend of Quirinus, the founders of Tegernsee traveled to Rome in the late ninth century to visit the sites of the saints and at the same time they wanted to take the relics with. The Pope gave the two monastery founders a reward for helping against Quirinus' enemies, these were the relics of St. Quirinus.
There are some stories told about the transfer of the relics to Tegernsee:
Allegedly, the messenger out of curiosity tried to open the sealed reliquary container. Something unusual happened, because suddenly fire flames appeared. These flames were interpreted as the presence of the saint. After a short break between Gmund and Tegernsee, a salutary spring sprang up on the place where the body of the sacred stood, and just above this spring the church of St Quirl was built. Exactly in the middle of the church is still a draw well.
On June 16, 804, the relics were buried in the monastery church. According to history, while he was being buried in the tomb, part of his body had fallen down bloody, as if the saint had just been discharged. The glass vessel with the blood relic is still to this day in Tegernsee church treasure.
I went into the church and and let the atmosphere of the church affect me first. It was pretty quite and not much people around me. Just a person was standing in front of the altar.
I made a stop next to the candles and and lit also a candle

What about you, are you religious? If I would have to answer this answer this question, I would say: "No, I am not, but I believe in something, it is a power about us that I can not give a name, I can feel it, maybe I could call it -universe- , it is strong and powerful but it is not possible to describe this power!"
Wish you all a nice and calm Sunday! See You Soon - Big Hug Lena <3 <3

Hallo!

The church sure looks enchanting Lena!
I am sitting on the fence about whether I am religious or not. It is a hard one to answer this question definitively, I suppose. There have been times in my life when I would feel one way and then there are times I feel completely opposite. I suppose I am still learning and may be the answers will come :)
I just stumbled upon your post and I will certainly be looking out to see more from you!
Thanks a lot and thank you to share your thoughts here! I can understand your thoughts, in my opinion we can also believe in something different, it has not to be god, just a believe in ourself can also be helpful , I think it is very individual , Wish you the best!
A splendid structure.
