@anomadsoul proposed a really cool challenge - to compile 10 of your best posts and share them with Steemians! So I'm jumping on the bandwagon! For those who don't know me - I'm @saunter! I write mostly about psychology and travelling, but occasionally I take a look at different topics. In my compilation science dominates, but these are the one I'm the most proud of! I hope you'll enjoy at least some of my picks :)
Here we go!
1. Insight #1: Brand new psychology series on Steemit! What is insight?
It all really started with that post... My first serious article. Few weeks ago I ended Insight series with the last, 10th entry. I tried to show complicated topics in a simple, but still scientific way. It gained some recognition and was well supported by #steemstem community.
2. Alexander von Humboldt - 10 reasons why you should learn about the greatest forgotten scientist and traveller
Alexander von Humboldt is SUCH a huge inspiration for me. A man of many talents, combining two of my favourite subjects - travelling and science. I compiled 10 reasons why you should #gettoknow von Humbolt (I guess there's odds are high that you don't know him yet!). The last man who grasped the whole state of natural knowledge of his time deserves your remembrance!
3. Psychology of Libertarians - Moral Foundations, Cognitive Style & Personality Traits of Libertarian Mind
A look on libertarians from a moral psychology perspective. How do they differ from democrats or republicans, but not politically, but psychologically? Were there any libertarian psychologists that contributed to this field? If you would like to discover, why was there a naked man on National Convention of the Libertarian Party - check that post out!
4. Carl Gustav Jung, Wolfgang Pauli & their idea of SYNCHRONICITY. A unique marriage of psychology and physics
In this one I pushed my boundaries of understanding. Two great, but controversial minds of their time and their struggle to understand the reality. Can some strange power structure both mind and matter in a similar way? Highly speculative ideas of Jung and Pauli fascinate me and that's why I wrote this piece.
5. Perceptions of Jordan Peterson. Reflections after the lecture in Iceland
My latest work! Quite personal, but also critical look at Jordan Peterson, or rather perceptions of that figure in both his critics and advocates. I had a chance to meet this man in Reykjavik, Iceland which gave me a lot to think about, also regarding my master thesis and interests in psychology.
6. The most powerful psychedelic substance.... is in Your brain. Current knowledge on DMT
Wanna hear a crazy thought? There is an illegal neurotransmitter that you are smuggling wherever you are. It's called DMT and it IS in your brain. It also happens to be THE strongest known psychedelic substance, that cause SO strong and out-of-this-world experiences that scientists don't really know what to do about it and what to think of it... I tried to lay down all we really know about DMT in this article.
7. Psilocybin and man: research findings from 1999 to 2017
Hell yeah, another drug related post! This one is about psilocybin research done in the recent two decades and it's potential psychological benefits if use properly. Curious about magic mushrooms? You're not the only one!
8. Neurotheology - What the Heck Is That?! 😮
Yes, I like strange science topics, and here's another one. How to make anyone feel God? You just need a proper device. And yes, science already developed that. Research on religious and mystical states of mind is what I find really captivating and that's what neurotheology is all about.
9. Hitchhiking to LIBERLAND. My Little Story of Libertarian Settlement Activism
I wrote many travelling stories on my blog, but this one really deserves attention. Ever heard about Liberland? Self-proclaimed libertarian utopia in the middle of Balkans? Well, I tried to reach that land and I've met one of the craziest people in the world, trying to make that dream true. Libertarian hippies, bitcoin enthusiasts and even political prisoners of Liberland - all that you'll find in my memories of summer 2015.
10. The Ultimate Guide to Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming is simply amazing. I have some experience in that field so why not to share it with Steemians? My goal was to show both scientific and practical knowledge about lucid dreaming. It enables you to dream whatever you'd like and why not to do that, if 1/3 of our life we spend sleeping and dreaming? Flying is really worth the try!
Now's the time for nomination! I really would like to see a compilation of @jacekw, @highonthehog and @abigail-dantes! Good luck guys, now you can't decline! Muhahaha 😈]:> 😈
Oh! 😳
All right, all right! Next weekend! :)
Ha, great challenge ! I'm glad that I've read most of the posts you mentioned here :))
Thanks man! I, on the other hand, must catch up with some of your lately published articles!
I would love to hear your opinion on some of them :)
