Calling anything buffalo over here in Thailand is bound to get some sort of humorous response because "buffalo" is a word that can be used to describe anyone that is a bit dumb. I don't recommend saying it to anyone that you are not already great friends with or if you want to fight them. Basically, just don't do it.
However, this particular salad has nothing to do with the massive land-mammal but it is rather referring to a sauce that is normally reserved for friend chicken wings. Buffalo sauce orginated in Buffalo, New York and for me anyway, it is one of the best spices that you can put on chicken.
As much as I love buffalo wings, i never imagined turning it into a salad but since the wings are normally served with ranch or blue cheese dressing anyway, sauces that are normally reserved for use in salads, I think it just kind of makes sense to turn it into a salad right?
Getting a good salad in southern Thailand can prove difficult enough on its own, but having an inventive salad served in an actual enormous bowl is a real treat that you really don't encounter all that frequently. I asked for blue cheese dressing with mine and they really put a lot of blue cheese in it, which is just fine with me but might not appeal to everyone.
I was so hungry when I ordered it as well as impressed when it arrived that I actually forgot to snap a photo before stirring it up. The presentation was actually a lot better than these pics would indicate.
Overall the mix of the mildly spicy sauce from the chicken and the creaminess of the blue cheese dressing worked really well. I figured i was gambling a bit by ordering this but I will tell you this: I would definitely order this again. I don't get near enough vegetables in my life and I got a bunch of them tonight. For those of you living back in the USA, there really isn't much reason that you couldn't make this yourself as buffalo sauce is readily available at every grocery store. I have never even seen it for sale here in Thailand so I am curious as to how they made it because it was spot on perfect.
I don't normally order salads because it is never enough food. This beast of a salad was actually difficult for me to finish and now i am home and about to go into a food coma.

LOL. You missed the custom of these times: take the picture before eating! That salad looks delicious and if it has cheese dressing, it's much better. I love the very crispy and spicy wings. I hallucinate for them. I'll try to do something like that at home. They may not be as delicious, but it sure will be a good way to start the day. Greetings, @gooddream

Buffalo is a hidden word for tasty salad in Thailand lol. I'm very picky thou so I prob shouldn't be caught saying that word around there heheh.

What a delight! This salad looks really good, and I see you liked it. I love the combination of tomatoes and onions with lots of dressing to accompany chicken wings, I'm a fan of them, I haven't eaten them in a while, and your pictures have made my mouth water, so I'm going to buy wings and prepare a salad like yours to delight me, @gooddream.
