I find out about series a long time after they happen because i don't live in the west anymore but this one was a winner for sure.
Let's forget about that fact that I am a big fan of mustaches for a second and just focus on the fact that the cartel / cociane stuff in the 80's was huge. I was a kid in that time and even though i might not have really known what they were talking about, I knew the name "Escobar."
I probably found out about this series a year after it aired but I will go ahead and start out by saying as soon as i figured how to make the subtitles work, it was something i couldn't stop watching. I already know what happens in the end and unless you are 7 years old or don't pay attention to life you already know what happens to Escobar too. However, i love the way this story is told.
A lot of the TV show is in Spanish so turn on the subtitles if you don't want to be lost. The story is narrated almost entirely by the DEA agent "Steve Murphy" and that is fine because it is (almost) entirely true what he says and they only use his narration when absolutely necessary.
- i had to include this because i feel as though "steve" is the quintessential USA name other than my own*
So just in case you were asleep for the past 20 years this story follows the life of Pablo Escobar and his involvement in the creation of the cocaine trade routes that exist to this day in the USA and the world. He became extremely wealthy doing this and anyone that has ever done coke can understand why. I don't remember the exact statistic but at one point i want to say he was in the top 20 wealthiest people in the world.
I honestly feel as thought the portrayal of Escobar as a normal human is fair to see. I enjoyed it. Im not saying drugs are good and what not but it is easy to understand that this person also had a human side that really really cared about his family which is good. He also really tried to look after the community that he was a part of and in many ways Netflix presents his character as the "hero" of the show and that the people that are trying to bring him down are the bad guys.
It was a lot of fun to watch and it is my understanding that there is a season 3 already, which i have seen none of. I guess I am going to have to find that.
In the meantime if you haven't watched this series at all, I strongly suggest you do so. It will be a buffet you don't regret.
Romantization of gangsters is nothing new ahah, althou Escobar was far from a gangster, he was a crime overlord.
I actually believe he wasnt killed, it must of been a look alike. Let's face it he was too damn rich to be caught like that.
Wagner Moura is a great actor, check out his other works, you will always root for the characters he plays, be it a drug lord or a ruthless special forces cop, he is very charismatic.
He' probably hanging out in a bunker somewhere with Elvis :)
Narcos is part of my all time favourite series. Netflix really did a good job. I consistently watched from the first season to the third. I actually even watched El-Chapo to fill in certain parts of the narcos story. Everybody ought to be loyal like Gustavo tho.
You should look at the boss has many sagas but is the best of all
I will love to watch it, finding out about story would be very nice.

That series is awesome friend, pablo escobar there are too many I recommend you see them all in NETFLIX but the one that I recommend is a call without sines if there is paradise is awesome and very good really send you a big hug from Venezuela
the figure of Escobar, many Colombian peoples, especially among the urban poor who consider him a hero and a generous person.
Escobar is well-known for being charitable and involved in the construction of public facilities such as sports field schools, and development for the poor.
Roberto Escobar, his brother, in his book The Accountant's Story Inside the Violent World of the Medellín Cartel recounts that Pablito has a natural and harmonious relationship to the poor. Due to his sporting passion, various facilities to sponsoring soccer teams he grants.
Because of his work of peddling international cocaine, he struggled to protect his business against the Colombian government and campaigned against the extradition policy of criminals for the United States. The murder orders from the mouth of Escobar are innumerable. Starting from police, journalists, high officials to and politicians have been dying because of his activity against cocaine kingdom.escobar is a hero of Colombia.
impressive friend there are many versions of Pablo which will be the real one we do not know. The truth is that Pablo Escobar has been one of the biggest drug dealers in the world. Nothing admirable brought with it a lot of destruction and death but for those of us who love these people's lives. they are very interesting series
Escobar was a legend; An evil legend who probably destroyed a lot of lives, but a legend all the same. I've watched several documentaries about him and I'm always fascinated how far a simple choice led him to be the biggest drug baron ever seen
Excellent that you are watching series of narcos and especially this series is very good (the truth to me I love the narcos series). It makes me curious to know how long you dress her, to me it became very eternal. My language of origin is Spanish and it is much easier to understand, I recommend a Spanish series called "the paper house".
I am Venezuelan, and this series was made in Colombia, it was really good, I think we have all heard from Pablo Escobar, the truth is that many of his dialogues have a very good comedy of Spanish. The truth is the series is very old, going through its beginnings as a criminal who stole gravestones and was engaged in smuggling and, finally, getting involved in the world of drug trafficking, where the history of the richest man in the history of Colombia begins, but also one of the most dangerous in the world.
