oh no! I got a flat tire on my motorbike! Thailand

Take it easy fella. It really doesn't matter where you are in this country, you are not far from a shop that can sort you out. It happened to me today actually. A guy pulled up next to me and told me that my back tire was near flat and I didn't take him seriously but I'll be damned.... 20 minutes later my tire was completely flat and i was shifting my weight to the front of the bike to compensate for the near complete lack of back tire.

I suppose there are worse places to get a flat tire. It was a lovely day and the place was open and had no wait. Just as a side note it is exceptionally easy to find a place to fix a flat in Thailand almost not matter where you are. I can speak Thai but to be honest you don't need to in this situation. You could just grunt or speak whatever provided you are pointing at the tire in question and it will be repaired.

They guy knew his stuff as is expected in a place like this. This was a proper "hole in the wall" establishment but the mechanic was fast, friendly, and nice.

At the end of it all I needed a new intertube, which after driving a my flat back tire for several KM, i was already extremely aware of. At the end of it all i was in this shop for a grand total of less than one beer and was on m way. I truly love this about Thailand... the locals always have a motorbike shop nearby and they charge next to nothing to repair pretty much whatever is your problem .

This particular snafu cost me 140 Thai Baht or around $5 USD. It actually feels quite nice to be catered to like this although I obviously would have preferred to not have gotten a flat in the first place.

The point of all this is to point out that no matter where you are in Thailand, you are not far from a motorbike shop that can work miracles of you rented scooter (even though I actually own mine.)

Deleted o.O

it's just me speaking in slang... i hope other people understand it anyway

That is very convenient and literally cost nothing to fix. It was an inconvenience but not a huge one.

Glad you got the tyre fixed very nicely! Luckily you didn’t have your best friend with you! No traffic and no air pollution like in Bangkok! What a life you are living!!

Cheers.

$5 that is great.
Basicly everything is cheap.
Or are some things in Thailand more expensive?

Just like here in the Philippines. I reckon there are about 2 or 3 such auto/motorbike repair shops for every mile of road in the suburban and rural areas.

Hi, what is your motorcycle? I am also a rider who loves to travel by motorcycle.
