THEME: INTERCESSION - DISCIPLESHIP
MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 28:19 [KJV]
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Discipleship; A master training an individual to follow in his steps or follow his ways, and possibly become far better than he the master himself. Teaching nations implies making disciples of them in the Christian way, and this is also another phase of intercession.
When a soul is saved, it is the responsibility of the individual who introduced him to the gospel of Christ and into the Lord's great family, to keep check over that soul over and over again, until he or she is fully matured to carry on the task. For discipleship, there are various stages and approaches, but the most important ones are the do's, the listen's and the watch's.
Doing means a master himself doing and teaching a saved soul all he can to build him up by being exemplary. Being exemplary in the sense of personally impacting all one knows into his student.
Listening is a two-way issue. A good master makes a good disciple. Hence, just as a disciple listens to his master, the master must also be always ready to listen to his disciple.
Watching is where the master keeps a closer eye on his disciple if indeed he or she is picking up the teachings and fundamentals given him. It is at this stage that all will be so obvious whether the disciple is growing or is lurking.
We are all mandated to make discipleship a part of our everyday lives.
PRAYER : Father please help me to live each day with discipleship embedded in my life.
INSIGHT: The more disciples we teach, the more the Great Commission will be completed.
Enjoy your day...
