W4C is a non governmental organization in Ghana which has an aim of reaching out to the poor. It's an organization with young men and women with the zeal and commitment when it comes to work. We have volunteered to help. It is an A team. Our leader is young and talented man called Harry Bekoe. IMG-20170622-WA0004.jpg.

CURRENT PROJECT OF W4C( PROJECT '' T''). T means Teenage Pregnancy.
One of the problems which is hindering teenagers in deprived communities in Ghana is teenage pregnancy. Our team surveyed a community in AKATSI in the Volta Region called LIVE. We realized that most of the female teenagers in the community were victims of teenage pregnancy. Hence, we as change activists decided to take it upon ourselves to help reduce the rate at which the female teenagers are getting pregnant in Community.
Therefore we started working as a team to help reduce the number of pregnancies in Ghana especially in our deprived communities which seemed not be cared about in our country.
This project( Project T) started last month but will end in January 2018.

The team went to Akatsi on a one week project. We were able to go through community entry to make them aware of our presence in their community.

Day 2
This day was the beginning of the actual work.
We started our work on the next day. We visited various houses in the community with some questions for us to know the causes and some of the possible solutions of teenage pregnancy in the community. These are some of the causes we were able to get from most of the people.

  1. Financial crisis
    2.Peer influence
3 . lack of sex education
  2. Wake keeping during funerals among others.

It was so hurting to see teenagers with babies they can't even take care of. Some of them even run away and leave their breastfeeding babies behind. All because of shame and financial crisis.

We were able to visit most of the houses hence we had enough information from the people.

Day 3
Afterwards, a gathering was held in the community the next day. There were various talks on teenage pregnancy by the CEO and other members in the organization. There were talks on how the parents and the teenagers can collectively come together to prevent teenage pregnancy. There was a talk on sex education as well. The teenagers were also engaged in tasks with prizes on them. Some of them were awarded at the end. IMG_20170905_100115.jpg.

Groups were formed among the teenagers with leaders to guide them in the community to engage them in activities given to them by the team. This was to keep them always closer to their books and also prevent them from wasting their time on unprofitable things.
The team presented to the community some items like clothes, shoes, stationery among others. FB_IMG_1504554120713.jpg.

Day 4
The fourth day was so interesting
We had different kinds of games like football and volleyball with the youth in the community. It was so amazing. After a stressful day like that, we had a small drink up party to calm the nerves of the team members.
