THE PROPANE TANK IS NOW HERE

in #ghsc7 years ago

Another day, another job done!

This is going rather quickly now. Each day seems to be another great step forward, and progress is happening! This was one of the last things to cross off the list before moving into our mobile home.

THE TANK - HOOKED UP AND READY TO BURN!

Preparing the site wasn't too difficult, since it was a mostly open area. The tank had to be at least ten feet away from buildings, so this spot was a good fit. With the bobcat from my neighbor and the trencher from @bluerthangreen, the trench went quickly.

This was a pretty cool thing to see. This 500 gallon propane tank can be lifted and maneuvered into position with this lift arm. It is controlled by remote, and worked just like it was designed to.

Seeing this giant tank in the air made me feel like a "big winner" on the claw machine at the local arcade. Also, I was glad that it wasn't already full, or it could potentially be one giant bomb.

Leveling the tank was a simple task too, especially with the lift arm to raise and lower it. Inside the mobile home, the propane will be used to heat water, cook food, and run the furnace when needed. I plan on mostly using wood as heat, but this will be a good backup, or a good cover if we leave during the winter. No one likes coming home to frozen or bursted pipes.

here's the proof:As always, I'm @papa-pepper and

Sweet!...:)...

ha! super progress sir papa-pepper! hey I love that purple cap on the tank in fact you know what? If a propane tank can be beautiful it's that one!

What about this one?

😄 I remember seeing one that was made into a pig.

YES.....😂

hahaha!!! what in the world??? that's you on a propane tank and it looks like in Texas? lol. and why is it painted like a water melon? Are you making your own meme's again? this is too funny!

Naw, that is a small Oklahoma watermelon. The big ones are harder to ride, LOL! :)

hahha! aren't you supposed to be working? oh wait this was posted 9 hours ago so I'm sure you are working on the food preperation.

Pasta is boiling, sat down for breakfast. I got 3 hours sleep last night, had problems with one of my pressure cookers. Had to run one several times to finish all the chicken! :'(

oh! wow sir smithlabs. well it's always a long day so this time will be no exception!

Great progress! It won't be long now and you'll be moving in! How about painting that propane tank to look like one of the zucchinis? Or perhaps a bunch of Chinese Red beans?

That is a great investment. Cheap and effective. Just hope that propane source never disappears.

@papa-pepper can make his own natural gas if that happens - it’s pretty easy, the latest methane digesters are awesome😉

Dear sir your efforts of making your garden beautiful is very very enthusiastic and we respect your unstoppable round the clock efforts janhit, I mean the work habit till the job not done it's awesome.
Congratulations sir you done a good job.

that's awesome, now you can start making your own homemade rabbit turd natural gas.

Do you have severe frosts?

Periodically it will freeze here, but nothing too serious.

Absolutely awesome!! You are taking great strides now daily ! I am super happy for you and your family!! 🌈🌴🦋❤️🍀

Nice one there...Being a chemical engineer my advice is just keep it in shade and in well ventilated area... Also try to get the Material Safety Data Sheet 'MSDS' from the propane supplier.

It is in a shaded, well ventilated area. I'm very familiar with MSDS and used to be one a safety committee that had to be trained in many areas. Thanks @xabi!

Good... Then there is nothing to be worried about. Propane tank is in good hands:)

Im excited for you and your beautiful family.Total awesome... @papa-pepper (:

I would love to have one myself but A propane truck cant get to my cabin. So I bring in smaller tanks myself. 😊

So your gas is hooked up. What about your water?

Yup, we've got water!

Heat. water. electric that leaves sewage. You probably took care of that. I see how fast you work in the quail house video. lol

(It had to be done)

potentially be one giant bomb

This reminded me a story my grandfather told me. He was an army engineer in eastern europe in the 50's. They had classified missions, but basically they were loading a nuclear bomb onto a truck with a winch arm, something snapped and that bomb came crashing down!

Turns out you need a detonator, but boy did that give them a scare!I

God Bless! Things are really coming together now :)

This is a step I still need to make! I will run on propane also, as a back up source. Primary will be solar powered heat pumps, secondary will be wood, final will be propane.

Good choice my friend!
