Getting to know GIPHY
If you are involved in $GIFU at all, you should become familiar with GIPHY. In this series I'll be discussing the very basics and progress to more advanced techniques to up your GIF Game.
Head over to https://giphy.com/ and take a look around and create an account. Be sure to follow me https://giphy.com/channel/Epic-Fail
And the Stickup Boys https://giphy.com/stickupmusic
Giphy is a very easy site to navigate, and once you have a profile you can begin to create and upload GIF's using the button on the top of the page.
Uploading is straight forward, and you'll have several options. You can upload GIF, MP4, MOV and WebM. You can also upload a "Sticker" which would be a GIF with transparency. Lastly you can upload media URL's.
From there you can just keep the GIF as is and make part of your portfolio or go ahead and Edit / Create a new GIF.
You'll get the same options as upload however you'll get prompted to add a filter, motion or a sticker as well as an asset like sunglasses or a blunt etc
Lastly, if you're looking for a specific type of GIF just simply type in the search bar of what you're looking for and try different wording if you're not finding a good match. They also have popular categories like Sports, Reactions, Holidays, Stickers and you can follow you can find Artists from the top search area as well.
That concludes this weeks GIPHY 101. I'll be keeping these short and sweet so they are a quick easy and fun read. Each week you'll learn a new tip or trick.
