A proposal that makes sense!

The increase in fees to consumers will always impact the number of drivers a market can support. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. The fallacy is that everyone can sign up and work for a gig app and make a living on it alone.

Gig apps have been participating a race to the bottom on fees and contractor pay to gain market share and still be profitable.

Charging fees to consumers to be passed on to the contractor by all app companies is an innovative approach for portable benefits.

Too much emphasis is put on hourly wages IMO. Let's talk about profit, or at the very least, not losing money. In the absence of individual negotiating power with gig app companies let's talk about guaranteed base per mile.

What other innovative solutions are out there to help gig workers increase their income and benefits without sacrificing work flexibility and choice. Let alone putting companies out of business and stopping new companies from getting off the ground.
