A few weeks back I wrote about my discovery of and experimentation with an app called Glasses Off!
With 145 comments and 141 views there was a lot of interest from many of you who wanted to be kept up to date with my progress before perhaps giving it a try yourselves!
The creators claim that you should "see" some improvement in the first 2 weeks and that it will be about 3 months to "see" a great change. So, after about a month what has my experience been?
Just as a Reminder
This app only works for those that need vision improvement in order to read. I can still read without reading glasses but I now have to take my distance glasses off in order to do so. This hampered me, for example, when driving because while I use glasses to drive I couldn't see the instrument panel with them on!
What is it Like to Use The App?
I have to say first of all is that I don't always remember to use it! You can set a built in reminder but when it flashes on my iPad telling me that it's time to train it is invariably not the right moment! But hey, that's on me! My Bad! You should train 3 times a week and I've managed to do it at least twice a week. If I really want this to work I'll have to improve on my regularity!
Using the app is like playing a video game but it takes intense concentration. By the time I've finished a session my eyes are actually smarting and they do so for quite some time afterward.
What About The Results so Far?
I can now see the car instrumentation with my driving glasses on. I don't claim that things are crisp and clear but I can make everything out at that short distance. When it comes to glancing at my watch with my distance glasses on I can now make out the number on the dial but things are definitely fuzzy! Still, progress has been made.
If I had to guess I'd say that I've improved about 20% but the app itself tells me that I've improved by only 10%.
Here Are The Stats That The App Gives Regarding my Performance
This is what the app indicates that my improvement has been!
While this looks impressive, I'm not too sure what it means!
There it is a 10-20% Improvement in One Month!
Will I be able to throw may glasses away? I'll check in with you in another month and who knows? Maybe I'll be that much closer to doing so!
What do You Think?
- Am I deluding myself or will I really be able "throw away" my glasses!
- Are you at all interested in this application?
- If I am successful will you give it a try?
In closing, since many asked about it, the application costs about $10 for a month and then if you decide to go ahead it's $60.00 for a year. For more information you can have a look here.
I hope that you enjoyed having a look at my progress report!
Until next time,
@kus-knee (The Old Dog)
Keep do it! You're on the way! 60$ and if it works you'll save a lot of money in eventual glasses expenses....
Thanks for the encouragement! I'll keep going! Go @kus-knee go!
Wow interesting! I am nearsighted maybe it will work for me!?
Hey mon you never know mon. Let me keep tryin and I be bock to you!
I hope this works out well my friend. I had cataract surgery in 2014 and they put a corrective lens in and my vision is as good as it was when I was 18!
By the way... guess what time it is (here's a hint)
My draft was last night... Got Mitch M. again & Van Riemsdyk... Tyler B was taken!
Hey @richq11 now you're getting me excited! Yes I have the NHL App so I can see the games and for once my team is looking good! I hope to start writing more about hockey on my other blogs soon. In fact the other day I wrote one about goalies on @nhlhockey
Great to read the you see like an 18 year old! Rich blessing to rich!
I get excited at Hockey time! I won the last 2 years in a row and my team looks pretty good this year. I've got Corey Crawford in the net with Jimmy Howard and Brian Elliot from Philly backing him up... You know, I still remember when the league was Boston, Toronto, Montreal, Chicago, Detroit & and NYR! Gawd I'm old!!!
I like this case study a lot. While I don't where glasses at present I like knowing there are tools like this that can help retrain one's eyes and brain.
I would tend to say that you are not deluding yourself by thinking it might be possible to throw away the glasses. Since you've made 10-20% progress in one month of -imperfect- practice it seems like more time and regular use of the app should make a dramatic difference.
I'll be very interested to read part 3. Keep up the good work (both with the app and the reports)!
Thanks for the encouragement!
That's interesting!!
I hope that you don't need glasses yet @nba05!
I am quite fascinated by this. I am going to be watching closely! Excuse the pun!
No need to excuse the pun because I'm a big fan of them!
Me too actually! :0)
interesting . . Waiting for your next post
Thanks for the visit and the cute picture!
It must be a cool app. I will surely try once. Thanks for bringing to us
let's see how the next month goes!
a great discovery, thank you friends already shared @kus-knee.
Let's hope that it keeps working!
This wonderful post has received a bellyrub of 6.36 % upvote from @bellyrub thanks to this cool cat: @kus-knee. My pops @zeartul is one of your top steemit witness, if you like my bellyrubs please go vote for him, if you love what he is doing vote for this comment as well.
Done!
This is a sweet app. Crazy how far technology has come. I'm excited to hear about your progress!
I won't cry victory just yet but so far so good!
Thanks for the update! I am following this with some interest as I have a similar thing with my eyes... and I just haven't found the courage to have my eyes lasered... actually, I'm not even sure I'm a good candidate. However, this kind of natural "eye retraining" appeals to me... IF it turns out to be more than mere smoke and mirrors.
Time will tell with me. I'll report again in another month.
I can give it a try :)
Do you already use reading glasses?
difficult to honestly say what I think about it.. I think you have to try/experience it..
Well they claim 90% success rate but let's see what the future holds!
Hi friend I had read your previous post too. I want to tell that, if it will work on you, I will definitely want to use, but how do I get? Please reply and if you can, please visit my too friend. Thanks for sharing such a valuable information.
They have a website and you need to download the app.
It will be interesting to see if you can continue to improve. It may be that a few exercises loosen things up somehow, but more than that has to be a challenge. I'll be following your progress to find out.
Yes I'll report again in another month. Yesterday's training session left me with very tired eyes for the rest of the day!
yeah i remembered that post that was pretty cool discovery by you ;) and seeing at the results from it seems to be good till now :)
I hope that it keeps getting better!
The way you are explaining about the progress, I really feel you are on the right track and you'll throw away those glasses soon.
Try for a month more and see where you stand.
I hope that you're right!
Thank you for your documentation. Looks really like this is improving. Amazing what you can achieve with training. 👍
You're right about training. It's getting tougher. Although the sessions are about 15 minutes long it's intense!
Very interesting app. Thanks I like this face
Thanks a lot!
You Are welcome
Your sharing has increased my curiosity and interest in this app. I'll remain hooked to your further updates. If it works, it would be a dream come true for me. Keenly watching this space with a lot of hope.
My sincere thanks and wishes to you!
Thanks for the best wishes. If I continue to improve I will be very happy!
Mhh seems to be a good app, I will take my time to see and find out how this works. Thanks for informing us. Have a great day !
Always felt like the downside to using glasses. Shortly after you need better once just to remain seeing similar as if by design.
That is an interesting app. I wonder how well it be after a long day of reading and looking at computer screens. I often find myself turning up font sizes on things late at night just to keep going as my eyes have tired so much.
Wow you use your eyes a lot! It seems that modern man causes a lot of strain on his eyes with computer work!
I like your post. @kus-knee I have followed you
Oh, this is a great result! I'll try this app immediately! Can it be found for Android?
Oculist doctors say that I should wear the glasses, they think vision cannot be improved by training. I would like to refute this! :))) I'll report my results later.
Yes it is available for android.
I downloaded, and tested my eyes. :) I'm among the average people of the 50-s. 90% of this age need glasses. Or training :)))
Very interessing APP thank you so much for this review @kus-knee
Thanks for coming!
Great idea. I have tried eye exercises before with some improvement.
That's good to know.
So it works so far. Do u practice with ur distance glasses on? I'm used to use my distance glasses while reading, only when I read something like a book I'd take them off (but since that rarely happens xD).
If you use your distance glasses all the time then yes but in your case I believe that you'd take them off.
Your app is good. Many things work in This can work easily.
I hope that I continue to improve.
Your job is good. You can continue this.
That's the amazing app, i will surely try it. thanks for sharing.
Thanks for stopping by!
Eye training has been known about for a long time.
Except for all of the eye "doctors" and all of the teachers and... like everyone.
In the movie "Remo Williams" Chun where's glasses, which Remo chides him about. But, if you read the books, Chun would never were glasses, and wonders why glasses even exist. Don't you people know about eye training?
A simple way to train is you get two items (such as pens) and you hold them away from you so one appears twice as big as the other. Then you focus on one, then shift your focus to the other (wait for your eyes/brain to settle) then shift back.
Yes there are many excercises in the Bates method as well. It is a good idea to try and improve our vision naturally.
you are great at writing great articles and you are also very good to everyone so you get a lot of followers
I really like your posts, can you see some of my posts, I have some very interesting posts and I'm sure you'll love it @kus-knee
That's good to know. Keep up the good work!
Good post, I am a photographer, it passes for my blog and sees my content, I hope that it should be of your taste, you have my vote :D greetings
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I'm shocked that you have seen that much improvement! Strong work!!
what an amazing place this is!! just speechless
most welcome :)
Another Great one!!
Not bad. I was always sure that nothing but surgery for myopia would help.
I will ask my nephew to try it.
He is just 11 but has problems with his eyesight I feel it will help.
Convincing him is a problem though. :)
An interesting app! I never used it! Thank you for sharing with us your experience))
Interesting! I'm nearsighted (I wear contact lens) since I was 14 years old and from some months I'm also farsighted, so I have corrective glasses for the hypermetropia that I can wear even if I'm wearing my usual lens. I'm blind as a bat and it's not good for my work :P
Thanks I am going to give it a try!
I need to take off my glasses to read too but i can see the speedometer and all Ok. Probably won't bother with the app. Skeptical about these apps claim.
Glad to see that my todays resteem brought you a little bit traffic ;-)
If this is really showing the great results I must say this will work for sure, you just keep on the training and I hope your glasses will be off after sometime. Vision depends mainly on the training. How we train it like the bodybuilding.
Thanks for advice! I just downloaded this app on my phone and just passed my first test. It's really fun and i hope it will help me😊😊😊
I passed this test so fast and i wanted to start a new one, but Mrs Doctor said that its allowed only 1 test per day. 😁😁😁 What a pity! ))
I will share my results too in 1 month. Let's see if it worked with me too)
I think time will ultimately tell. Hoping for the best.
WOW!!!!
You had 10-20% improvements with only doing this 2 times a week??!?!?!!
That is a HUGE testimonial! Just imagine if you trained 5 times a week!
Do it! Getting rid of glasses would be a HUGE UPGRADE!!
Congrats old dog you are quickly becoming a Young Pup! You have the spirit!
Hi my friend @kus-knee! You are always original! It is very interesting! I expect your result!
I thought that it would be interesting to have fun with me in Lviv with a "coffee horoscope"!

How cool is this! I read your first post before already and was telling a friend about this app. I myself get a little more difficulties to read a book. The distance for the meters in the car are still good for me, but when having something 30cm or less close to my eyes, I have to push my glasses down or up; Without them I can see super details still. I consider to use this app as well, but will wait for your next update and progress! Looks really promising what you experience and share with us.
