Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gets 'Global Women's Leadership Award' as a successful female leadership recognition During the three-day tour of Australia from Thursday, he will receive the award in Sydney.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali said this through a press conference on Tuesday.
The Foreign Minister said that Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull invited Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to participate in the Summit Global Summit of Women-2011 summit for a comprehensive progress in ensuring gender equality in Bangladesh.
He said that Sheikh Hasina will be on her way to the country from April 26 to April 28.
He also said that this dignified acknowledgment will strengthen the pioneering role of Bangladesh in the development and empowerment of women in the world. Prior to this, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe received the award last year.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hold a bilateral meeting on April 28 along with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull in addition to participating in the Women's Summit in Australia.
He also said that the Prime Minister's meeting with several heads of government, including Prime Minister of Australia, could be held in the side-line conference.
