Back in the 70s the Earth was cooling at an alarming rate. It was estimated by the experts that by this time we were suppose to be in the middle of the second Ice Age. Apparently the Earth's temperature is never perfect. It is either warming at an alarming rate or cooling at an alarming rate. The global climate is never perfectly stagnant . So 40 years ago we were scrambling to try and figure out how we could keep everything from freezing. And now we are scrambling to figure out how to keep everything from melting. Humans have been on this planet for an extremely short period of time, relatively speaking, and we have been able to accurately measure the average temperature of this planet accurately for an even shorter period of time. For humans to make projections about the climate of this planet based on the extremely limited data we have been able to gather during this relative blink of an eye is ridiculous. We didn't sink into a global ice age the way they predicted back in the 70's and it is unlikely that their predictions hold any more water this time around. If we were truly concerned with the health and well being of ourselves and this planet then we would stop clear cutting forests. We would stop hunting and fishing animals to the brink of extinction. We are completely destroying ecosystems every day. We are not going to solve this planets environmental problems by imposing a few CO2 emissions taxes here and there. We need to stop hacking away at the branches and we need to get to the root of the problem.

You are hilarious. Obviously you don't agree with my assessment of the overreaction to such a small sample of data, both back in the 70's and now. I respect that. This clip from Billy Madison is priceless. Very original way to reply to my post. I laughed so hard when I saw this reply. Very nicely done.
It sure is a good thing we have Four Seasons... Could you imagine if it was constantly Winter or Summer...???
@pocketechange
There are four distinctly different seasons where I live, but the closer you get to the poles the more winter you experience year round. The closer you get to the equator, the more summer you experience year round.
Yes... That makes perfect sense to me...
