Global electronic village (GEV) is a term used to refer to a village without borders; it refers to connecting people around the world technologically through Information Communication Technologies (ICTS). The term global village was coined by Marshall McLuhan. He emphasized that “this forces us to become more involved with one another from countries around the world and be more aware of our global responsibilities”. Similarly, web-connected computers enable people to link their websites together. This new reality has implications for forming new sociological structures within the context of culture.
