Okay, so this is 1st of January 2022. And today will be my first day starting a challenge to put out a piece of content every day for 365 days straight. No excuses, no exceptions.
My initial idea was that I'm going to just "share my progress and my journey" kind of thing.
With that assumption I was not very clear what that actually meant, what exactly am I going to share, and in what way.
Sharing your journey sounds fun, exciting and also easy, right? But the more I looked it seemed it could definitely become a thing in itself, and not the right kind if you know what I mean. If there is one thing I know with certainty is that the more you complicate yourself, the less fun it becomes. I have plenty of experience with challenging myself. This is not my first rodeo.
In 2021 I challenged myself to run every day 365 days, no exception. And did it successfully. Today I asked myself what's next? If this is possible, what else is possible? So here I am looking for the next challenge. Going further is fun and the best challenges are going to be found where you struggle the most.
I've been struggling with writing but also content creation in general for a long time and consistency was my kryptonite. But you see, if you are not consistent, that's just a result of an underlying process, or lack thereof. In the past months I worked seriously about having a proper process in place, and now I'm ready to test this in reality, here!
So, in the next 365 days I'm going to attempt to create one finite piece of content every day, and I'm going to post it here. I'm also going to track my progress on certain goals and share that here as well.
When I started in January 2021 that looked like something I could do easily. So I said, why not share the journey? Then later I realized that sharing your journey is not as easy as it looks. Running for 365 days was lots of fun, but sharing the journey was not so straightforward.
As I later find out, every day I would have to edit and compile and then upload the video not to mention I also had to remember to delete it from my phone as I run in storage problems multiple times throughout the year.
So sharing your journey comes with additional work, go figure. And now realizing Im beginning a new year it made sense to sit down and question, what the hell am I doing? Am I signing up for another 365 days of frustration? Didn't I had enough?
What looked even more scary this year is that, as opposed to last year, when I tracked only one thing which was the running, now I'm looking to go further and track multiple goals. And for me, right out of the gate, this has disaster spelled all over it. My mind immediately went into dialogue mode "dude, are you sure you want to track multiple goals and share that every f**day?" Yes, I'm sure!
I'm excited and kind of scared at the same time.
As I looked into it, I realized that no matter what you do, you have to question the value that you're putting out, is it worth it? The simple answer is yes and tomorrow I'm going to detail about it. For now, here is what you need to know.
I'm going to track multiple goals using Atracker app on my iPhone and then post here the screenshots.
If this feels incomplete, it's because today I was absolutely not ready for this. I'm posting this very close to 12:00 AM. It's going to be an interesting year..
