Life Happens! You need to schedule your Steemit Content.

in #goals7 years ago

I have had one of those weeks. You know the kind? It seemed like everything went wrong and as a result, my Steemit blog suffered.

  • I was sick two days this week.
  • Our car had a flat tire while my wife was running errands with the kiddos.
  • We had our normal weekly activities.
  • I wanted to rest more than usual to catch up from not feeling well.

And so writing on Steemit (and more importantly engagement with my followers) suffered.

If I were a full-time Steemit blogger ...

I would do a lot of things differently if I could focus on Steemit full-time. So that means that I need to start doing things differently now in pursuit of that goal.

One of the top things on my list would be to schedule my content. There are several key benefits of using a content calendar to organize my ideas and the release of my Steemit articles.

  1. I can still publish content (articles, videos, pictures, etc) even when I am sick and not able to create new content.
  2. I can organize minor and major themes within my content better.
  3. I can include other people to be apart of content creation through collaborative work.

Does Organization Destroy Creativity?

I am sure that some people would claim that organization destroys the creative process. But as I look forward to providing better content for my audience, I have realized that I need to become more organized. I believe that being more organization helps me channel my creativity and requires me to evaluate the content that I am creating.

I have a lot of ideas, but I want to make sure that those ideas flow well together. I have a lot of people that listen to me, so I need to make sure that my voice is clear and informative. I have a lot of things that take up my time, so I need to prioritize and maximize my Steem efforts to get the most bang for my buck.

This new focus will require:

  1. Advanced planning
  2. Discipline
  3. More Disciple
  4. Designated time

Final Thougths

Honestly, I am not looking forward to making this change, because I know how far behind I am in reaching this goal. But today's post is a baby step in the right direction.

I want to hear from you.

  1. Do you create content in advance?
  2. If so, how do you decide when to publish your content?
  3. Do you have a content calendar?
  4. What resources do you use to organize your content on Steemit?

I look forward to reading your comments.

Good idea. I like the content calendar. If you have ideas that pop into your brain, jot them down for future reference. I know all about the kind of week your having. I am a new construction plumber and the work keeps piling up, 50-60 hour work weeks and no light at the end of the tunnel. I literally have no time to create content. Between family, kids soccer games, kids concerts etc. Yard work. Oh yeah my wife @funfarmgirl also works full time and our three kiddos can’t raise themselves. Good post Nate. Sorry for venting in your comments, lol.

I have created future content, I use google docs for creating my content, the auto save feature is really nice. I do that for two reasons. I can access my google docs from any internet connected device, and, I have had a post disappear from the website after working on it for a couple hours. So all of my rough draft is saved in google.

Sometimes we face something unexpected, we all have that kind of things, but you have achieved good things out of it. Yup managing contents is also great thing @sumatranate

  1. Do you create content in advance?

Many time yes, but it is difficult for me sometimes to have internet connection, I need more time to publish post than I write the post.

2.. If so, how do you decide when to publish your content?

I decided to post the at night when I relax and free time in order to have a chance to look one more time over an article.

3.. Do you have a content calendar?

No, I don't have it, I made once, but I did not manage my own discipline to achieve it (not good)

4.. What resources do you use to organize your content on Steemit?

I simply use microsoft word file to save it and then just need to copy the article into the steemit post field, but it take time when i need to upload photos, but sometime I upload photos when i get good connection and copy the link to note pad, that is a lots easier for me

it is getting more interesting to see your next post my friend, happy for you

I would argue that organization can support creativity, especially if it diverts finite energy from stressing about doing the work to simply knowing when it will be done.

I think I'm not a focus or organized person when it comes to Steemit content. I don't write in advance what I'm will post. I just come here whenever I want to. Moreso if my SP is at lowest, it is hard to do any activity if it's lower.

How is your health now You should rest.

Sepertinya ide untuk membuat jadwal untuk posting tulisan di steemit akan sangat membantu kita ketika sibuk dengan perkerjaan lain. saya dalam seminnggu ini baru dapat kesempatan untuk kembali memposting pak @sumatranate
