Manakamana Temple is situated at about 1300 meters at a top hill, 90 kilometers to the West from Kathmandu and East from Pokhara surrounded by a small village community. The Manakamana Devi Temple is a highly venerated sacred place of the Hindu Goddess Bhawati, an incarnation of Parvati. Manakamana means the “wishes”. It is believed that Goddess Manakamana fulfills the wishes of ones who worship her with pure heart. So many people form different places come to visit the temple and well take the blessing from the Goddess aswell. It is believed that sooner or latter the Goddess Bhagwati rewards those who make the pilgrimage to her shrine by granting their wishes. And she is especially popular with Newari newlyweds who pray for sons.
