I hate doing the dishes. Even though I have a dishwasher, I still find it to be such an inconvenience.

Here we have to wash everything by hand without running water. That means getting water from outside and then boiling it before even getting started with the cleaning...

I've got a dishwasher too. But prefer to wash them by hand. It's kind of relaxing. The mind can wander. I've come up with some of my best material while washing dishes. Which reminds me..... The sink is full.

I feel like they have harsh punishments when resources are scarce. Look at the results from that survey on when men found it acceptable to beat women for burning food, for example, and you'll see that typically the worse off a country is economically the more socially acceptable it is to use negative reinforcement to save what little you have. Its like we have quite some similar attitude towards some things. I am very much comfortable cooking but doing the dishes is like farming under a hot sun.

Dish washing can be stressful even with a dish washer
Same here and bachelors kitchen. I hate cleaning dishes and should switch to use and throw plates at least.
You cannot keep it clean all day unless someone special is visiting :P

Well that's probably because you didn't grow up washing dishes . As a kid, I washed dishes untill I started seeing myself in my dreams washing dishes and demonstrating the process in real life while asleep. My elder bro once madeba video showing me doing that and I couldnt believe myself . Right now, I am so used to washing dishes that they no longer mean a thing to me.

Use plastic plates and utensils.
LPT: When you're done eating put the dirty dishes in the sink and let them soak. Don't even bother putting clean dishes in cupboards. Just a waste of time. Once the dishwasher is empty you can take the soaked dishes and load up the washer.

I have two dishwashers and nothing that isn't dishwasher safe.
The only thing I can complain about is unloading dishwashers.
To keep track of which one is clean and which is dirty, I hang a dish towel on the handle of the dishwasher with the dirty dishes in it.
I don't like doing the dishes and I have no dishwasher.
But I like eating with clean dishes so I do it.
I trained the kids to do that job. 😁👍
