J. Keeler and S. Grainger need six years to understand each other and record the sequel to their gorgeous debut in 2004. The frightening cover is just for the enemy's delusion. The band relies on three-minute compositions with explosive drums, sweeping guitar riffs with a lot of distortion and well-dosed electronics that wipe their ear at home, but they certainly sound great at a big festival or in a small prank club. Despite the references to stoner rock in Virgins, DFA 1979 does not cheat on its true character and continues to record raw, pulsing sound with deep bass, ominous riffs and rack-racking drums to keep pace. The Physical World is a potent act of a group that does not need rediscovery to make it captivating in less than three minutes
