In Canada, I live close to the Fraser River which had a history of gold mining a little more than 150 years ago. Far up river are the places in the Caribou where the water flows seasonally to churn up possible placer gold deposits. The Commercial operators are gone but many opportunities for amateur prospectors to try their luck.
