What better way to relax on the 4th of July then to spend it boating, climbing waterfalls, and looking for gold?
I didn't think there was a better way, so that's what I did on the 4th of July.
Besides who can pass up the chance to spend the day on a boat? Not me!
After failing miserably on trying to learn how to water-ski (sorry not sharing pictures of that)...... or should I say relearning how to drink lots and lots of water while being dragged face first at a rapid pace? Anyway..... I took to the shore to explore what the land had to offer. While my friends were fishing I happened to discover this multi-level waterfall system (that you can see a part of in the pictures below).
To be honest the pictures don't do it justice, because they were taken from the boat after I had explored the waterfall area.
There were quite a bit of things that I found of interest up in that little alcove. A network of caves, several panning areas, quarts deposits, and other items. I will definitely be spending some time in this area to see what it has to offer.
However, the next time I come back I will be prepared with tools, and resources that will help me thoroughly search the area. This will allow me to hopefully make sense of everything that I discovered there.
The area used to be rife with things to extract, and in fact something of great value was found in the area within the past year. In addition there was a collapse of the water system infrastructure recently that has renewed people's search interest in submerged metals.
Time will only tell if and what is out there.
