Golden Hour: beautiful sunset over the Pacific Ocean in Venice Beach, Los Angeles

One of the things that I was really looking forward to when planning my recent trip to Los Angeles was those astonishing into-the-ocean sunsets that I knew from photos by @schmidthappens and @armentor who post incredible shots of sunsets from L.A. here on Steemit regularly.

We spent a whole day hanging around Santa Monica and Venice beaches and even though it was a bit chilly there (at least for us, coming from the scorching Riviera Maya, Mexico), we were determined to wait for the sunset no matter what and it did pay off!

We were rewarded with this spectacular sight conjured up by the Mother Nature herself. The silhouette on the left is one of the lifeguard towers located by the Venice Beach Pier.

Someone please photoshop a Mars Rover into that picture leaving tire tracks on the sand as if it were Mars soil.

That's the only way it could be more perfect.
