I'm extremely blessed to be able to work remotely. When my buddy sent me a text message this morning asking if I wanted to go golfing, I was fortunate to be able to say yes.
Remote work typically means deliverable and project based roles. As such, knowing my workload was completed, I was able to participate in a fun and social afternoon (complete with beers and more beers).
This year, I've defintiely gone golfing more than I have in my entire life combined. For some reason, it's really clicked this year. Overall, I think it's probably the social engagements with the adult beverages. Additionally, I feel like my skill level has definitely increased, making it more enjoyable and competitive.
The course we played on today is a military course on the North Island base in Coronado, CA. It's a private military course. Fortunately, I'm still in the Reserves and am able to have access. My buddy came too and he was my guest (I was able to sponsor him to play).
Since most of this game for me is about drinking beers and cruising around in a cart, I knew I had to have plenty. We brought our portable cooler -- like an over-sized lunch sack -- and cruised around hitting balls.
Admittedly, my back 9 is always worse than my front 9....hmmmmmmm...
It might be hard to see from this picture, but the back 4-6 holes are right along the water on the coast. It's still along private military base ocean, but it's a great view and keeps the weather nicer.
If you're not into golf, I suggest trying it out with some friends. It really is a lot of fun and it's nice to cruise around, enjoy being outside (in "nature"), and drink some cold beers while participating in a challenging game. I've grown a lot fonder of the "sport" and have really been playing a lot more lately to try and get better. Things are always better when you're at least semi-decent.
Cheers!
Wow .\ Looks like a great day
super fun!
Nice view! A couple days ago I posted a photo of my view from the 9th hole. Golf is a nice walk ruined by a game of golf!
I'd also like to reccomend @actifit for when you're golfing! They use the #steemit blockchain to earn upvote percentages based on how much movement you get! My goal is 50k steps by the end of the year! I hit 20k for the first time last night!
Haha, I haven't walked while playing golf in forever!! I'm there to drive around and drink beers....and occasionally sink some putts. :P
Glad to hear and well done @jeebus1 !!
