communities are group of ordinary users sharing a common interest or a common language. GOLOS is a russian community with about 100,000 accounts which majority communicate in the russian language. Unfortunately their blockchain is in such poor conditions and the people in charge has been lying to the community since the beginning while running away with ICO money.
The community needs a place to develop, and why not SMT? I see no disadvantage in free competition.
