Hail to the fried chicken! (In South Korea, it is called 'Chi-nu-nim', meaning '(fried)Chicken+God'
Believe it or not, U.K. got shocked😱, tearful😭, mad😡 when KFC shut down because of chicken🍗 shortage. (The delivery service messed it up because of system break.)
(seriously..?)
People even called a police🚔(!) out of madness (or in full of tears..?)
Here is how KFC handled this crisis and I found it so fascinating.
Humor: They apologized with this FCK punchline. People could not help forgiving FCK.. Oops.. KFC.
Responsibility: Even though it was not their fault, KFC did not blame others. What a merciful chicken!
New opportunity: They even launched 'Where is my chicken' service after this CRISIS.
Some companies mess up and make things worse but this KFC case shows how a business leader should do at crisis and can even find a new opportunity and make more loyal customers. I think it is social media that enable this parallel-and-funny communication between companies and customers.
