Pretty much exactly what @libertyranger said. I am SICK of Google and Facebook thinking they can buy up every software company with a decent product.
Google worked when it was a search engine. It worked very well and it was the best available. That was what made them famous. Then they decided to "diversify" and have their fingers in any pie they can think of. Google Docs, Picasso (rubbish app), Android (please - we need an open source Android phone!), Chromebooks, Chrome OS, AI, cars, etc., etc. Now, their search engine is almost unusable since all they display is paid ads and their own favourites. Chrome is a horrible browser to use - check the number of processes running at any given time.
Google have also had many attempts at "social" apps - all failures. Google Chat; Orkut - as mentioned, and only ever popular in Brazil; Google+, the proverbial "internet graveyard" and now this? Just no. Better for them to go back to being a search engine which is the only thing they were ever any good at being.
